Earlier that morning while some of us were breakfasting, Dean Magnuson came by and advised a program of fervent prayer to lift the fog.
The fog did lift, it just took a while.
Longer than the time it took for us to get up the mountain and back. Up there, we kinda had trouble just seeing each other.
So, no too-stunning pictures of the view here, although I hear it's incredible.
I'm not sure if only the big ones are gondolas and the little ones are something else.
So, here's a gondola, or something else.

And I should mention that at the top we had a lovely lunch in celebration of Paul Harman (or so said the menus the restaurant printed for our group), who graciously condescended to autograph said menus (some of them -- ahem -- with personal inscriptions), which will in due time be put up for auction on ebay for those desiring to own a part of Paul's famousness, making the rest of us unbelievably wealthy, which will be helpful for those of us who need to make trips out to visit the rest of us who may have incidentally married into the families of German nobility.
So . . . yeah. It was a good lunch.
