"That stench is there."

No, this isn't about Rothenburg.

One stop we narrowly missed on our trip (because we ran out of time) was the Stasi Museum in Berlin.

As it turns out, one of my assignments for History 175 (due tomorrow, which is why today I thought I should maybe do something about it) was to visit and review this web site with an interview with Markus Wolf, head of the Stasi for nearly 30 years.

Wolf's article and his discussion on the morality of espionage are intriguing. I found even more intriguing, though, this interview with a CIA spy, "Rationalizing Treason."

Does this guy have mental problems or what?

Then again, his mental process is pretty much the same one anyone goes through to justify any sin. Which reminds me that I still haven't finished The Silver Chair . . .

Off to read more about the Stasi . . . or finish Silver Chair . . . or maybe find some more peach ice cream . . .
