I'm looking forward to that stage of life where, like the Queen of Carrots, it's my full-time job to study infant and toddler development.
Until then, I have No. 6 to study (No. 6 is three now).
Today we both learned about euphemisms. Like this:
No. 6: We used to have a different dog.
me: Oh yeah? When?
No. 6: [indicates old photo albums] In here. It was another dog, a little dog. We used to have it, but it went to dog heaven. Daddy told me.
me: [thinking deep theological thoughts] Well, we're not really sure where dogs go when they die.
No. 6: [greatly disturbed] A dog died?!
