As of about ten minutes ago, I've survived my first attempt at law school professoring (well, except for being the Trial Ad TA, but I don't think that counts), teaching legal writing to orientation students.
It seems to have gone well. I did learn that "what's up with that?" is not considered typical professor-speak.

Hmmm I like "what's up with that"...although it's definitely doesn't top the lecturer (complete with bow tie, high pants, and suspenders) that said, "now I know you must be thinking what the hell?"

I agree. That moment will live on in our memories long after we've forgotten what the guy was talking about. (Although for some of us the forgetting part had already happened... Do you think he knew that we were falling asleep?)
Actually, I'd forgotten about that exclamation (hadn't forgotten the guy or his pants, though, or how the dry eraser kept rebelling against him). I guess I have a G-rated memory (and G-rated lectures, too).
