First off, today I finished my first stint as a justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. Granted, it was a mock U.S. Supreme Court, but it ought to count for something. And for the students it wasn't exactly entirely strictly "mock," since their grades did depend on it. And they do call you "your honor," mock or not. How often does that happen in real life?
At the moment I have a special ability to say things about Lemon v. Kurtzman. It'll wear off.
Second off, I made a new friend from Edmonton (kinda neat, since now I know where Edmonton is). Soon after doing so, I graded my new friend from Edmonton. I think it's all still good.
Third off, last night Paul led an expedition to see the fireworks at the baseball stadium here in OKC. They were to Disneyland's fireworks what OKC is to the great OC. It was a fun expedition nonetheless (except that it was really really hot and humid and gross outside -- 90 degrees Fahrenheit at 11 PM; yuck).
Fourth off, tonight I was supposed to take off. But I didn't. A big storm in Denver is holding me hostage in OKC. There is also a big storm in OKC, which I hope doesn't try to hold me hostage even longer in the morning. Warm summer rain and the thunder and lightning and all are still nice (and wow, is this thunderstorm impressive).
But home is nice too.
The airport is not.
Fifth off, I'm off.

Well, you do kinda remind me of David Souter (it's the eyes)...jk :) I'm glad you had a great time in OKC!
Edmonton rocks, eh?
We've got a river and an hopping University district and festivals all year and a rich agricultural heritage and everything!
This new friend wouldn't be Rob, would he? If it is, tell him I said hi. (Oh yeah, and he still owes me for lunch that day. There's five bucks I'm never gonna see again...)
Erstwhile Oxonians, both,
They tell me Ginsburg recently fell asleep on the bench, so she was my role model (j/k...).
No, it wasn't Rob, and he didn't know you either. Too bad; that would've been interesting. The homeschooling world is only so big. Alas.
