shock and aw[ful candy]

No. 3, while merrily consuming the jelly beans I won from being on the team with the friendliest pumpkin (although this is apparently -- and sadly -- disputed), flippantly gave homage to the wonders of watermelon-flavored candy.

I was, and am, shocked.

Watermelon-flavored candy -- ICK.

I had just opened Blogger in order to vent my horror when my mom came in and picked out a black jelly bean. "No!!!" howled No. 3 in tones of protective prevention, "That's black licorice!"

"I love black licorice," came the nonplussed reply.

!!!

I used to think I fit in with this family. But now . . . now I don't know . . .

Then again, maybe the point of a big family is having enough people that ALL the Jelly Bellies get eaten. This, I think, merits careful thought.

I agree with no. 1. Watermelon-flavored candy is pretty much always gross. Hey, aren't you going to post pictures of your friendly pumkin?

You could create a "friendliest pumpkin" poll and let the blogging world decide which pumpkin was really most friendly.

Watermelon candy is the best. It doesn't taste like watermelon, but it tastes good. Just like banana flavored candy doesn't taste like banana.

No way, Jose!

Someone finally agrees with me (other than No. 4).

I have a rant about banana-flavored candy, too. But I'll restrain myself.

Cherry and grape are where it's at, people (and green apple Jolly Ranchers, once in a while).

The winning pumpkin was the best pumpkin.

Kind of.

I'm 24 and over the past few years my taste buds have pulled a dramatic volte face. I never thought I'd see the day, but the cloying artificial sweetness of lollies is now less preferable to a well-hopped (bitter) and malty beer. That said, back in the day, watermelon Jolly Ranchers were hard to beat in terms of scrumptiousness. Also, you watermelon haters are weird.

Them's fightin' words.

Maybe I should challenge Jose to a duel. Somehow I have a feeling that would be a bad idea...

(And aren't you supposed to be doing your rhetoric homework???)

Yeah, them's fightin' words.
(And I did my rhetoric homework thank you very much.):op
