riding the wave

This conference looks interesting.

What's funny about the whole thing is that I remember following New Attitude back in the days when it was a mostly geeky-homeschooler-just-kissed-dating-goodbye phenomenon (when Josh Harris's dad was still more famous than he was).

In fact, long long ago when the internet was young I used to spend a lot of time on the New Attitude message boards learning with some relief that there were other homeschooled teenagers out there as conservative as I was.

Now it's part of a phenomenon in the world at large, not just for geeky-non-dating-homeschoolers.

Two things to say about this.

Well, maybe more.

One, somebody's prayers are being answered. Lots of somebodies, most likely. Two, I'd just like to point out the involvement of homeschoolers in the phenomenon. Just because. Three (I knew that saying "two things" was ambitious), how exciting is it to see a wave of young people (homeschooled or not, geeky or not, and dating or not) enthusiastic to put Christ at the center of their lives? Four, how refreshing is it if all of these geeky homeschooling non-dating types are graced to build Christ-honoring marriages and families at a time when our culture is trampling marriage and family in the dirt?

I'm excited, anyway.

(Oh, and entrepeneur is four syllables, in case anyone was wondering.)
