Yes, definitely an awesome book.
At the risk of further work-not-doing, I'll mention that the author has written a second book that is also good, A Thousand Splendid Suns.
Yeah, that's on my list for next. I don't think I can do two 21st-century novels in a row, though. Now I need Dickens or Melville or Bunyan or something. Or I could get back to Hugo (at long last); poor Hugo.
