It reminded me of something, and I kept trying to figure out what.
Along the way I thought of cymbals, tambourines, colors, and conqu'ring-hero-type parades.
Then I thought about this one scene in The Horse and His Boy (have I ever mentioned how much I like that book?) where the Narnian kings and queens are on procession through a Calormene city. I love the description of the vibrancy of the colors of their clothes (which I will find later when I have time . . .), which I think communicates something about Christian joy (think Revelation 21).
Then I remembered what it reminded me of:
But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.". . . who in Christ ALWAYS leads us in triumphal procession." Wow.
