dissonance

Just now I was on the 22 going 80 mph when a lone police officer passed me in the carpool lane.

And about an hour before that I was sitting in a classroom while my [non-native] professor assented to give the class Thursday off because Halloween appears to be a very very important holiday among college students in this country, and much of the class planned to be hung over.

This leads me to wonder whether kids' magazines have "what's wrong with this picture?" puzzles like they did when No. 2 and I were little. It seems like a patently not postmodern thing to do.

But what do I know . . .
