No. 3 and I are working on a new song and thinking through it together.
One of the lines is "to be broken is to heal," and from the time I first heard the song I've been having a debate with myself about whether it's a true and accurate statement.
(Meanwhile -- and this usually happens when I work through a favorite song -- I've been "coincidentally" learning a lot about hurting and being hurt, everything from the repercussions of saying something unkind to thinking about the death of pre-borns, newborns, and infants to listening to the CLS speaker yesterday talk about her six-year-old son's battle with lymphoma.)
It's true that there is no healing unless there's something to be healed from, but need we assume that there are healings that are so necessary for our growth that God will lead us through them to teach us by the scar?
Is hurt not only likely -- or even inevitable -- but necessary?
I'm starting to think so.

There will be no hurt in heaven so the answer to that question must be "no."
