on the abuse of vowels

This is a public service announcement.

If you want to study linguistics, BEWARE OF ENGLISH!!! Other languages (e.g., hmmmm . . . how about Spanish and Arabic) actually have respect for vowels.

Not so English.

Case in point: the most common vowel in English is . . .

AKA "schwa."

This is scary stuff.
