the parking lot as a semantical inspiration

Actually, today the parking lot wasn't very semantically inspiring.

Walking back to my car, reflecting on the death of my cell phone and contemplating whether I could possibly apply for extra credit in Music 100 (in which I am dangerously close to 89% and, correspondingly, the depths of despair) for having a hairstyle that looks just like Beethoven's (it was one of those days where you cringe to see your reflection in the car window -- and it does look scarily Beethoven-esque), I was also trying to find the Spanish equivalent for "alumni association."

This was relevant because I won't be able to go to a Spanish extra credit thing on Saturday because I'll be at an alumni association meeting. And I was wondering how to tell this to my teacher.

It occurred to me that we hadn't really learned the vocabulary for this in our textbooks.

And further, that it was odd that I should be so much busier than the rest of the students, who seem to be available for all of this extra stuff. Don't any of them have alumni association meetings?!?

That's when I remembered -- duh, no. There probably aren't any other GWC students who have to forego extra credit for law school alumni association meetings.

That would be . . . backwards . . .
