This weekend I got to go with the youth from church to our state youth conference.
It was good.
(Maybe someday I will post about what I think "good" means. It has something to do with meat and potatoes, sunshine and that happy worn out feeling after a day of running around on grass, and a symphony played with both technical mastery and overwhelming passion. It's not a boring "good" you may have heard of before.)
At the end, saying goodbye to all the kids, I was threatening to cry because endings are so sad. So Nate said, "All things come to an end. It is one of the joys of life."
Yet another reminder that joy is not about temporary happiness. Not at all. It's infinitely better.
That said, I think I'm going to go cry (you can cry joyfully, right?).
