my Father sold my car

Yesterday morning I was out on a walk thinking that I will eventually need to get a new car. And I was also thinking that it would be a big pain to go through the process of selling mine (a really big pain; we are not gifted sellers in this branch of the family).

About six hours later, my car was sold.

I won't drag this post through the details, but it was one of the most perfectly smooth things I have ever witnessed.

When I thought back on my morning wanderings and wonderings, I realized that I hadn't even been praying for insight about selling the car -- only wondering how it would happen. Mostly because I really didn't expect it would come up that day.

It reminded me of a part from Jonathan Edwards's "The Most High A Prayer-Hearing God":

He often manifests his readiness to hear prayer, by giving an answer so speedily, sometimes while they are yet speaking, and sometimes before they pray, when they only have a design of praying. So ready is God to hear prayer, that he takes notice of the first purpose of praying, and sometimes bestows mercy thereupon: Isa. lxv. 24. "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear."

He listens!
