with the warp and woof

Over the past couple months, in looking over old favorites from the family library, I've been really impressed by the foundation my parents gave us by exposing us to stories of people who gave their alls for Christ (either reading the stories aloud or making them available in the house). I don't think that they ever decided to "educate" us of these things intentionally, and the way that the stories keep coming to mind now is a mark of God's grace in working all things out for His purposes. But it's an example that I hope to follow.

Anyhow, Saturday night I re-read Bruchko, the first-hand account of a young man who left Minneapolis to carry the message of Christ to the Motilone indians of Colombia -- alone.

Tonight I was looking for Bruce Olson (Bruchko) on the internet and came across this essay, "Perfect Through Suffering." It's good.
