No. 2 graduates today, making her the first of this generation (on either side of the family) to have a bachelor's degree.
And then after that she's going to graduate school. Like, the real thing, teaching and doing research-y things that none of the rest of us can understand.
Congratulations, No. 2!
Therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly; and David said:
“ Blessed are You, LORD God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever.
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O LORD,
And You are exalted as head over all.
Both riches and honor come from You,
And You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great
And to give strength to all.
“Now therefore, our God,
We thank You
And praise Your glorious name.
But who am I, and who are my people,
That we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You.
For we are aliens and pilgrims before You,
As were all our fathers;
Our days on earth are as a shadow,
And without hope.

Indeed, congrats #2!
You should have seen her ring at the honors recital. Soooo good.
Congratulations to you, too! Some of us abstract thinkers in the front row spotted you, but the setting sadly discouraged polite introductions. :(
Congratulations No. 2 and adorable pictures Emilius!!!!
Why thank you! :) I must say, after five and a half years of being at the books it feels mighty fine to be done.
Yep, it would have been nice to meet you after the graduation and get a pic with my fellow graduate and former (sniff) lunch buddy. I noticed a lot of people left pretty quickly after the ceremony and due to the long and tedious nature (read: borrriiinngg) of it I'm not surprised.
Ah well - I guess we'll all have to make up for it sometime with a Starbucks instead. ;)
