Monday down, four to go

This is the picture that No. 2 made us pose for today at the registration table (next time I will sit up straight). This is part of the fabulous crew from Modesto who made today the best-running registration day of the three years I've had this job. Stuart over on the left can haul heavy boxes and still hold open doors for ladies at the same time, which is a definite help in an administrative assistant (especially when the ladies are having enough trouble tripping over their own shoes).

It is nice to have a physical office to call my own, even if it is for only one week out of the year. My "office" is a boys' dorm in its real life, so every time I move a piece of furniture I have to be prepared to find something surprising, like a suspicious-looking pile of dirt or a decaying sock. I have a horrible urge to go to Wal-Mart and buy a broom, a rug, and a tree, but I will restrain myself, the dirt pile will remain, and I will continue to decorate with sticky notes, staplers, and half-eaten bags of Reese's and peppermint patties (but if you are my father or uncle, never fear! other than the chocolate we are eating healthy! [are pizza and BBQ healthy?])
