let's think about probability for a minute

Even before Mayor Bloomberg had obviously lost his hypothetical $.25, his statement was patently ridiculous.



Why can't we admit that radical Islamists are, as a group, our enemies? There are plenty of radical Islamists who do.

Thomas Carlyle said that in a society where all of humanity is assumed to be equally and inherently noble, we will inevitably find ourselves in competition to see who can become the most depraved.
Going back to feudalism and xenophobia is obviously not the answer, but the Western outlook on the future of civilization is based on some disastrously flawed concepts.
